The Police and Fire Commission is comprised of five citizen residents. A trustee liaison reports to the Village Board on the Commission's activities. The Commission is staffed by the Police and Fire Chiefs.
Current Commissioners include, Karen Geiger, (President), James Gilboy, Sandy Sannes, Thomas Sobocinski and Ian Thompson. Mary Bennett serves as the Trustee liaison.
The Commission is responsible for oversight of the Police and Fire Departments under optional powers of State Statute 62.13. They review and act on personnel matters, oversee budgets, and participate in Department rulemaking. The Village Board retains authority over final budgets, labor negotiations, and compensation.
The Commission is scheduled to meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at either the Fire Station or the Village Hall.
